We are excited to host the first Labor Day weekend Saragrahi festival. Plan on a weekend of seva, kirtan, connecting with friends, internal nourishment through sadhana, nature and cow therapy, beautiful darshan of Sri Sri Gaura-Radha-Madhava, classes, and prasadam.

Schedule

Friday, August 31st night:

Arrivals and setting up your campsite and getting settled into your accommodations.

 

Saturday, September 1st:

• 6 am ~ Mangala-arati at Ananda Ashram
• 8:30 am ~ Breakfast
• 10 am – 12 noon ~ Writing as a Spiritual Practice Workshop for Teens and Young Adults by Dana J. Trent/Kitchen Seva for parents and adults.
• 12 noon ~ Bhajans
• 12:30 pm ~ Raj Bhoga Arati and Kirtan
• 1 pm ~ Lunch
• 2:30 – 5 pm ~ Swimming at Lake Lure
• 5:30 pm ~ Evening bhajans
• 6 pm ~ Sandhya Arati and Kirtan
• 7 pm ~ Class by Krishna-Caitanya
Light evening prasadam served after class.

 

Sunday, September 2nd:

6 am ~ Mangala-arati at Ananda Ashram
8:30 am ~ Breakfast
10 am – 12 noon ~ Japa Workshop by Arcana-siddhi and Karnamrita for the adults/Kitchen seva for the teens.
12 noon ~ Bhajans
12:30 pm ~ Raj Bhoga Arati and Kirtan
1 pm ~ Lunch
2:30 – 5 pm ~ Swimming or hiking
5:30 pm ~ Evening bhajans
6 pm ~ Sandhya Arati and Kirtan
7 pm ~ Class by Dulal Chandra
Light evening prasadam served after class.

Monday, September 3rd, Sri Krishna Janmashtami:

6 am ~ Janmashtami Mangala-arati at Ananda Ashram
8:30 am ~ Breakfast
12 noon ~ Bhajans/Abhiseka
12:30 pm ~ Raj Bhoga Arati and Kirtan
1 pm ~ Class by B.A. Asrama Maharaj
2 pm ~ Drama by
2:30pm ~ Janmashtami Feast
4 pm ~ Good-byes and departures

Through service to Guru, the Deities, and the Vaisnavas we become close to Krishna. Even if you can’t attend the festival, there are ways that you can help the festival be a success! Plan ahead for accommodations for the weekend, since it is a holiday weekend. There are seven campsites available at Saragrahi’s Nama-stay Campground, with access to the amazing bath house.
